Endometrial Polyp
An endometrial polyp is a growth or mass that develops in the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium). These polyps are typically noncancerous (benign) and often asymptomatic, but they can sometimes cause abnormal bleeding or other symptoms.
Considerations:
- Symptom Management: If endometrial polyps are causing symptoms, removal is usually recommended to alleviate symptoms and prevent complications.
- Fertility and Pregnancy: In some cases, endometrial polyps may be associated with fertility issues or recurrent pregnancy loss. Removal of polyps may improve fertility outcomes.
- Postmenopausal Bleeding: Postmenopausal bleeding should always be evaluated promptly, as it may indicate the presence of endometrial polyps or other potential concerns.
- Regular Monitoring: Individuals with a history of endometrial polyps may be advised to undergo regular monitoring, especially if they are at an increased risk.
