Removal of Bartholin Cysts

The removal of Bartholin's cysts or Bartholin's gland cysts is a medical procedure used to treat these cysts when they become recurrent, painful, infected, or cause discomfort. Bartholin's cysts occur when the Bartholin's glands, which are located on either side of the vaginal opening, become blocked, leading to the accumulation of fluid. Surgical removal may be recommended when less invasive treatments have failed to address the issue.

Advantages of Bartholin's Cyst Removal:

  • Effective Treatment: Surgical removal is an effective way to address Bartholin's cysts, particularly when less invasive treatments have not been successful.
  • Relief from Symptoms: Removal provides relief from the pain, discomfort, and potential infection associated with these cysts.
  • Prevention of Recurrence: Surgical removal aims to prevent the recurrence of Bartholin's cysts, especially when the entire cyst and its associated duct are excised.
